Meeting time from Microsoft Teams, in Airtask.
Connect Microsoft Teams to Airtask and time spent in meetings becomes part of the picture. Productivity analysis stops treating a full calendar as idle time.
- Native integration
- Microsoft Graph
- Admin consent required
Quick answer
Does Airtask integrate with Microsoft Teams?
Yes. Airtask connects to Microsoft Teams through a Microsoft Entra app and uses meeting data to improve productivity analysis by tracking time spent in meetings. Setup needs a tenant ID, client ID, client secret, a matching rule, and admin consent.
What it adds
Meetings are work. Now they show up as work.
Productivity tools that only watch apps and websites miss the hours people spend on calls. This integration brings Microsoft Teams meeting time into Airtask, so productivity analysis reflects the whole workday.
Adds to Airtask
- Time spent in meetings
- Meeting context for productivity analysis

Before you start
A Microsoft Entra app, four values, and admin consent.
- Microsoft Tenant ID
- Client ID
- Client Secret
- Unique Identification Key
- A Microsoft admin with at least Cloud Application Administrator access creates the Entra app. Microsoft Graph permissions need admin consent, and the meeting data needs an application access policy.
Setup
Register the app, connect it, then grant access.
A Microsoft admin with Cloud Application Administrator access creates the Entra app, then anyone with access to Airtask Settings can complete the sync setup from there.
Open app registrations
Sign in to the Microsoft Entra admin center with at least Cloud Application Administrator access. Go to Identity, then Applications, then App registrations.
Register a new app
Select New registration, enter a display name, set Supported account types to single tenant, and click Register.
Open the integration in Airtask
Go to Settings, then Integrations, and open Microsoft Teams.
Enter the tenant ID and client ID
Copy the Directory (tenant) ID and Application (client) ID from the Entra app overview and paste them in.
Create the client secret
In the Entra app, go to Manage, then Certificates and secrets. Create a new client secret and paste the value into Client Secret.
Choose the matching rule
Pick the Unique Identification Key: Email, Email Prefix, Employee ID, or Employee ID Prefix. Matching is case-sensitive and whitespace-sensitive.
Add Microsoft Graph permissions
In the Entra app, add the permissions listed above and grant admin consent for the tenant.
Configure the application access policy and save
Create and grant a Teams application access policy for your app's client ID, then save the integration.
Settings Center
Everything lives in Settings Center.
Airtask brings Microsoft Teams integration setup into one Settings Center panel. Grant Microsoft Graph permissions, save once, and meeting time starts feeding productivity analysis.
- Microsoft Entra app Tenant ID, Client ID, and Client Secret
- Unique Identification Key that matches Microsoft Teams users to Airtask employees
- Microsoft Graph permissions with admin consent, required before saving
- Application access policy for online meeting data

Troubleshooting
If something looks off, check these first.
Most sync issues trace back to credentials, mapping, or permissions. Here's what to check before contacting support.
Users are not matching
Matching is case-sensitive and whitespace-sensitive. Check that the values in Microsoft Teams and Airtask are identical, with no trailing spaces.
The integration will not save or connect
Confirm the Microsoft Graph permissions were added and admin consent was granted before you saved the integration.
No meeting data appears
Confirm the application access policy was created and granted for your app's client ID.
